With all the hustle and bustle of my parents’ visit, I didn’t have time to get Brian a Valentine’s Day card last week. I broke the cardinal rule of romance: ALWAYS get a card. The little-known, second rule of romance is this: ALWAYS fill the card with enough cash to offset the cringe-worthy sappiness of the card.
“Our love is so great it makes dolphins leap out of the sea so they can enjoy the golden sunset and feel the weightlessness of acidic raindrops.”
I made that up just now.
[You don’t say.]
Call me, Hallmark.
Since I dropped the ball this Valentine’s Day, I decided I should make it up to Brian with a belated e-card.
I don’t have enough cash to offset this one.
How was your Valentine’s Day? Did you shell out $6 for a cheesy card?
IMO, that is the most awesome card ever!! Lol. I’m sure your husband appreciated it a lot more than some sappy hallmark card!
Thanks, Jody! He hasn’t seen it yet. I’m going to show it to him at lunch. While he’s eating. It’s much more cringe-worthy that way.
This is GREAT!! The best card ever!!!
I love it !!!!
This CRACKED me up! LOVE it! My youngest used to suck her toes too. In the car seat. While I drove. Which is NOT what you want to see when you look in the rearview mirror. Here’s hoping your husband finds it just as funny!!
Nope. No cheesy cards for us this year. Instead we made a pact to take the money we would have spent on cards and go to a nearby quaint little town for specialty coffees and time together; people watching and window shopping. It was so much better!
I LOVE that idea!
Not paying $6 for a card so for the past couple of years I have been using an old trick I learned from a great lady (your Aunt Carolyn). It is good for any holiday really trust me it works she got away with it for over 15 years. Here is how it works when packing up your holiday decoration place the card you just gave your spouse/children in the decoration box. When the holiday rolls around again take those cards out and give them again. On year 6 with Mr. Jet Ski and he hasn’t caught on yet.
We make our own cards. Even though his consists of computer paper and crayon drawings, I appreciate it more because he uses his own words. I made his card from cardstock (had to top the computer paper), but got him chocolates with “This Valentines Day I want you to know exactly how I feel in someone else’s words” on the front. I hate spending money on cards and I’m glad he understands that.
BEST CARD EVER AWARD GOES TO KATY!!!! That was by far the cutest thing I have seen!!! Love love live it!!! And yes I did go out and buy a card but only bc I had a coupon lol hope you guys have a great week love you xoxoxoxo
